Umpqua Volleyball Academy (UVA) was founded in 2011 when Jimmy Munoz, Club Director, moved from Southern California to Oregon. He brought with him a plethora of volleyball knowledge stemming from 10 years as a club volleyball coach, 8 years as a high school head coach, and 2 years coaching collegiate and national level camps. UVA prepares every athlete to become the very best volleyball player she can be. Practicing the idea of “healthy competition” every day in practice, UVA teams will be accustomed to the adversity faced in tournament match play. With a family like environment, UVA preaches the most important aspects in volleyball: Have FUN & LOVE the Game!
All UVA teams will compete in the CEVA (Columbia Empire Volleyball Association) power league tournament schedule. All teams will also compete in tournaments located in Eugene, Salem, and Seattle.
UVA top teams will travel to a Junior National Qualifying Tournament along with an end of the year tournament, hopefully Junior Olympics (locations TBD).
UVA teams can also choose to play in an end of the year tournament after the Emerald Classic, i.e. Phoenix, or Anaheim.
All UVA teams will practice out of Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon. Practices will be held 2-3 days a week (including one weekend practice). Players will also have one Plyometric training day per week.
